In 2007 Green Thinking produced the first official Building Energy Rating Certificate in Ireland. We have gone on from there to certify many many more properties around the country and to provide impartial advice energy efficiency advice many home owners, home builders and businesses.

We operate a small, efficient team at Green Thinking. James Carroll is the main Energy Consultant at Green Thinking. James has first class honours degrees from Dublin City University and Northeastern University, Boston. Keeping him on top of his game, James has recently completed a masters degree in Energy Management. James achieved 98% in the National Building Energy Rating exam, so you can be assured of the most accurate BER Certificate! He has also trained in excess of 250 individuals (yes the competition!) in the Dwellings Energy Assessment Procedure - the calculation method for Building Energy Ratings.

James has taken part in many print, radio and tv interviews in relation to the Building Energy Rating Scheme and achieving air tightness in dwellings. Please see some links on the side.

We have a number of part-time consultants, all of whom work in the energy industry and we draw on their expertise when the need arises.

Here at Green Thinking, we like to put our advice into practice. Electricity used at our offices comes primarily from renewable sources (though we try to keep our use to a minimum!). We use low energy bulbs, recycled ink cartridges and recycled paper. Our vehicles produce less than 120 grammes of C02 per kilometre - if possible we wouldn't use them at all!
